2nd day "bun" hair

I know most of you have seen a bun... but just wanted to prove that it's nothing special! FYI... this picture was SO HARD TO TAKE! LOL
Here is a quick snap shot I took of myself after sleeping, overnight, with a dry bun in my hair.  If you were to draw a line directly from the tip of my nose to the back of my head, that is where I placed my bun.  The bun doesn't need to be tight, or anything fancy, just something to keep your hair (and curls from the day before) in place.  After all, this is SECOND DAY HAIR ;-)  This is not meant to be perfect... but it will be a lot easier if you are on a time constraint.  So after a good nights sleep, let your bun out.  Most likely the "ends/tips" of your hair will be straight because they weren't in the bun far enough.  Grab a smaller barreled curling iron and touch up the hair that needs a boost and you're set to go!
Let me know how it goes!

the CHOP!

This is my BFF, Bri.  She just had at least 4 inches of hair cut off.  Sometimes a hair cut is scary... but sometimes once you do it and see the results YOU ARE IN LOVE!  She has naturally wavy hair.  She uses products from Aveda like: "Be curly" curl enhancer for curly days and a hot straight iron and some Moroccan oil for straight hair days. She lives in the Seattle area... so she knows how to tame her tresses! The a-line bob can easliy flatter any face shape depending on length.  I love this sophisticated, easy style.  So if you are considering the chop... consider the mid/long length a-line!  It's fun for all!  LUV YA BRI!

bangs... or lack there of!

Bangs... you either love them or you don't!!! Well, when all else fails and you're having a "bad bang day," just throw them up in a high messy bun. The length of your bangs will decide how high on your head your messy bun will be. Shorter bangs = higher bun, long bangs = choice of bun placement! Show your bangs who the BOSS is!!! You can still have a stellar hair day without those pesky bangs!

DIY dry shampoo!

6-10 drops of essential oil ( lemon or lavender) 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons rice flower 2 tablespoons arrowroot powder... I have also started adding dark cocoa powder to my recipe.  If you have darker hair, I would recommended doing the same. *combine in a salt shaker* VIOLA!!!

Summer hair!

Start with putting your old lady hot rollers in, just one row from front to back. Add a few on the side, if you'd like! I use a 1" barrel curling iron for the remainder of hair.  I like to leave them in for 10 min +.   During this time, I like to put on a little make-up or grab a cup of coffee!!!  Unroll hair, use some "dust" on the crown of your head and tease. "Puff" up your crown with a pik and some hair spray.

With a clear hair band "fold" your hair.  Pull the "folded" hair out far enough so it almost looks like a bun.  Sometimes you have some straggler hairs... no worries, just curl them... they add to your look!  Add your favorite flower,  and some FREEZE hair spray and you're good to go!  HAVE FUN!!!

Pinterest Hair

Easy side "messy" bun :)  Quick up-do for fun wedding or summer hair!  Use a clear rubber hair band and "FOLD" hair in half and band it.  Use bobbypins in random spots and twirl the straglers, pin them back as well!  I add a flower just for fun!
