WRAP AROUND CURLS

I was inspired by a Pinterest post so I decided to give it a try!  SUPER EASY!  Instead of clamping your hair in the curling iron... wrap it AROUND the barrel!  ROOTS of hair start at bottom of the barrel... The tips of your hair should be at the tip of the barrel! check out the tutorial at WAVY CURLS

Waterfall braid wedding hair!

Bailey was such a beautiful bride, wasn't she?!?  She requested a fun waterfall styled braid! This was an easy and fun style for me to do.  So fortunate to have been a part of her special day!  Congrats, Bailey! (photo by: funfotodesign)

My favorite hair products

Here are a few of my favorite products... for a nice wash try using the WEN cleanser.  It's not a shampoo/conditioner it is a CLEANSER!!!  It's pricey but worth it! QVC has the best deals.  Hair dust is a pretty neat invention.  You get the volume with out so much teasing of your hair. Schwarzkopf sells this particular one at Target/Wal-mart for 1/4 of the price of the OSiS (in the red bottle.)  They are made by the same company... just different packaging.  I've used both and I prefer the purple bottle.  Moroccan oil can be spendy but it is great for dry tips/split ends.  A bottle this size will last a lifetime ;-)  And to finish your look... Kenra Platinum 26.  Not cheap, but not spendy... kinda right in the middle.  If you are on the fence about ANY of these products you can always give the trial sizes a go! You won't be disappointed! -Melissa

2nd day "bun" hair

I know most of you have seen a bun... but just wanted to prove that it's nothing special! FYI... this picture was SO HARD TO TAKE! LOL
Here is a quick snap shot I took of myself after sleeping, overnight, with a dry bun in my hair.  If you were to draw a line directly from the tip of my nose to the back of my head, that is where I placed my bun.  The bun doesn't need to be tight, or anything fancy, just something to keep your hair (and curls from the day before) in place.  After all, this is SECOND DAY HAIR ;-)  This is not meant to be perfect... but it will be a lot easier if you are on a time constraint.  So after a good nights sleep, let your bun out.  Most likely the "ends/tips" of your hair will be straight because they weren't in the bun far enough.  Grab a smaller barreled curling iron and touch up the hair that needs a boost and you're set to go!
Let me know how it goes!

the CHOP!

This is my BFF, Bri.  She just had at least 4 inches of hair cut off.  Sometimes a hair cut is scary... but sometimes once you do it and see the results YOU ARE IN LOVE!  She has naturally wavy hair.  She uses products from Aveda like: "Be curly" curl enhancer for curly days and a hot straight iron and some Moroccan oil for straight hair days. She lives in the Seattle area... so she knows how to tame her tresses! The a-line bob can easliy flatter any face shape depending on length.  I love this sophisticated, easy style.  So if you are considering the chop... consider the mid/long length a-line!  It's fun for all!  LUV YA BRI!
