DIY dry shampoo!

6-10 drops of essential oil ( lemon or lavender) 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons rice flower 2 tablespoons arrowroot powder... I have also started adding dark cocoa powder to my recipe.  If you have darker hair, I would recommended doing the same. *combine in a salt shaker* VIOLA!!!

Summer hair!

Start with putting your old lady hot rollers in, just one row from front to back. Add a few on the side, if you'd like! I use a 1" barrel curling iron for the remainder of hair.  I like to leave them in for 10 min +.   During this time, I like to put on a little make-up or grab a cup of coffee!!!  Unroll hair, use some "dust" on the crown of your head and tease. "Puff" up your crown with a pik and some hair spray.

With a clear hair band "fold" your hair.  Pull the "folded" hair out far enough so it almost looks like a bun.  Sometimes you have some straggler hairs... no worries, just curl them... they add to your look!  Add your favorite flower,  and some FREEZE hair spray and you're good to go!  HAVE FUN!!!

Pinterest Hair

Easy side "messy" bun :)  Quick up-do for fun wedding or summer hair!  Use a clear rubber hair band and "FOLD" hair in half and band it.  Use bobbypins in random spots and twirl the straglers, pin them back as well!  I add a flower just for fun!

1. Start with a side pony 2. take a small (shorter works better for me) 3. wrap around and tuck into the hair tie.  use a neutral colored bobby pin in you have any stragglers :-)   I also like to use the small clear rubber bands.

Braids always look fashionable and classy whether it is a regular braid, french braid or a fishtail braid.  Just braid your hair in a low ponytail and tie it with a soft/clear hair band.  Leaving an inch or so of hair below it  actually gives your hair a more glamorous look.  This style (and color) is my weekend homework assignment!  Whitney is going to help me out by being my hair model and my blogger.

SECOND day hair! Dirty hair steps :)

Claw clip and "foo foo" clip :)

Section off a square of hair.

Use your claw clip to hold the hair that will not be braided.  It helps to have it tied back so it doesn't get into your braid.

Take 3 parts to begin your french braid.

this is a funky 1/2 french braid that I find works best, only pull hair from the front.

I prefer the "pop out" braid.

I like to leave a few sections out to curl around my face.

Use a small, clear rubber band to hold your braid.

Get your dust ready to put on the crown of your head

use your favorite teasing tool on the crown of your head

add dust, then tease

use a pic and hair spray to keep your "poof" up

poofing

pull your hair into a messy have pony tale

pull up the poofed section

find the right spot for your braid

use a bobby pin to secure braid

add foo foo clip

tuck extra hair into your half pony/bun

curl

enjoy

my favorites!  Hairspray, dry shampoo and shine spray :)

Clean Hair day 1

So, I have been told that I am one of the "lucky one's"  that doesn't have to worry about second day "greasy" hair.  I say... it's all in the eyes of the beholder :)  If you do tend to have greasier hair on the second (or third...) day. Try using baby powder or a product called "dust" to alleviate some of the grease.  Dust is my first choice, but there is plenty of baby powder in my house, too.  Just be sure to only sprinkle small amounts, otherwise you will look like George Washington in his powdered wig!  I am posting a "clean hair" pic.  Normally on my clean hair days I wear a simple style with my hair down.  If I wear my hair up on a clean day I end up putting too much product (ie hairspray) and the second day hair is a bust :(  Just a suggestion... everyone is different!  In this photo I used hot rollers for fifteen minutes or so (put on your makeup in the mean time) and then I use a 1" curling iron to give a few extra, fun curls! I look forward to posting my 2nd day hair tomorrow!  TA TA FOR NOW!

I am new to blogging, so be patient with me!  I will post step by step pix of different hair types/lengths as much as possible!  BUT just a forewarning... you will definitely get used to seeing my dirty hair pics :)  Enjoy!
Add some "FOO FOO" to any hairstyle to jazz it up! Braids do wonders, too!
